oh man.
i'm turning into those geekish computer nerdy that hides behind my comp/ PS2/ xbox and eats breathes lives computer games. I did the deadliest sin of installing Half-Life2 on my baby. It was supposed to be a test. You know to see if the game works blah blah, iron out any compatibility problems.
Steam (some stupid online pgram u must install b4 playing) was a bitch! It totally was screwed. I couldnt register my original game for like what....40mins? I was smsing, emailing, msning while the damn thing downloaded patches and while i tried to read through the flimsy and pathetic customer support they were providing on the webbie.
bah. i was totally pissed off at the game and developers. but when i entered city17, all the prior frustration and 'steam' were just let out through a magical 'valve' (pun seriously intended)
Its INTENSE! Half Life 2 is breath-taking. Its a all adrenaline, non-stop rush as i raced through dark winding undergrounds, sewers, dodging trains and of course the irritating minions-aka-things-u-kill-like-flies-that-throw-you-ego-boost. Then again the AI is HORRIFYING. Their liked trained to hunt you down man! Yes and all the more to justfy replacing their damn head with smoldering lead.
the loading time between segments is agonisingly long. But its only when you realise that you've just held your breath for the past 15mins of intense play and pant carefully, calming your nerves as the next salvo of challenges is going to be thrown at you.
ah heck. HL2 is simply breathtaking. Hideo Kojima suddenly is not so brilliant after all. 6 years of blood and sweat by VALVe has certainly paid off.
gents.
buy half-life2. Original. Seriously. Cos you deserve it. Its wrenching my nerves away man!
argh. i shld be ording. heh. and not worrying abt the little sleep i'll have before my day tommorow. Sucks! I can't wait to be back in City17 (Half Life 2, PC).
wait ... but wasnt I still stuck somewhere in USSR, 1960s, trying to stop the world from a all out nuclear holocaust? (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, PS2)
no no ... i was in the surreal city of aquious, walking through its waterscaped pristine halls of marble, preparing for war against the airglyphs? (Star Ocean 3: Till the end of Time, PS2)
errr ... actually its ATEC Stage 1, First Battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment. (Mandai Hill Camp, sigh)
